As the Senior SOX Controls Analyst, you will quickly become an expert in the online casino and sports betting space. You will support the Company's SOX program, evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and providing strategic support in the design of key SOX controls. You will obtain an in-depth understanding of key business processes, evaluating potential risks and ensuring appropriate controls have been properly designed, implemented, and are operating effectively. You will also provide training and guidance to process and control owners, ensuring all requirements and expectations are understood. You will report to the Director of Internal Controls & SOX and will support all aspects of the SOX program, including scoping, walkthroughs, testing, and deficiency remediation and assessments.

You will also have opportunities to support the ongoing build out of the Company's revenue audit function, which is designed to satisfy certain regulatory requirements, assist with process efficiency for our Accounting Operations team, and support SOX controls and testing. You will work closely with the Accounting Operations and Regulatory Compliance teams to optimize and execute revenue audits, ensuring the achievement of all requirements and objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Company's SOX and Revenue Audit functions.
  • Assist with the Company's SOX materiality, risk assessment and scoping.
  • Work with business process owners to maintain and improve key SOX process and control documentation.
  • Recognize potential business process risks and collaborate with owners to identify, implement and improve key controls.
  • Educate Company stakeholders to ensure expectations and requirements for key SOX controls are properly understood.
  • Facilitate SOX requests, lead design walkthroughs and perform controls effectiveness testing.
  • Communicate audit results and align with control owners on remediation plans for SOX controls
  • Provide recommendations to strengthen processes and controls.
  • Develop periodic controls effectiveness monitoring procedures.
  • Perform routine revenue audit procedures for automated controls, key reports and data validations, and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with Accounting, Compliance and External Auditors on SOX and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build cross-functional relationships.
  • Assist with other special projects as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • BA/BS/MS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
  • 3+ years of related professional experience in public accounting, internal audit or internal controls
  • Past experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404)
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor a plus
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties and strong attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in assessing large data volume. Use of Alteryx a plus
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills with an ability to present findings to various levels within the corporation
  • Experience and a desire to work in dynamic and face-paced environment that demands creativity and flexibility
  • Effective time management skills, ability to prioritize assignments, and consistently meet deadlines

This role spans a wide breadth of experience at Rush Street Interactive, welcoming candidates with diverse experiences, backgrounds, and locations. The pay range reflects potential variations in experience, skills, and location. The pay range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base pay, benefits, and/or bonuses. For candidates outside the US (Canada, Europe, Latin America), we take a locally informed approach to compensation and will share specific ranges based on your country of residence.


Location Eligibility: Open to candidates across the US (except California, Washington, Maryland, and New York).

$80,000—$120,000 USD
