About Maddox + You:

Reporting directly to the Controller, Maddox is seeking a Senior Accountant for the newly formed Maddox PRO entity (Professional Resource Organization). The vision of Maddox PRO is to provide various shared services to projects and ancillary businesses to Maddox Industrial Transformer LLC (MIT) and within ownership's portfolio. Currently, PRO supports all the finance and accounting functions for various real estate development projects and small retail operations. The vision is to expand this to larger industrial and/or commercial operations. The Controller will be key to the success of laying the foundation and growing with the organization as it scales its services to various business ventures.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of real estate finance, project financial analysis, and project management accounting experience, will have experience reviewing and analyzing financial statements for M&A due diligence and transactional preparation, and be responsible for running the monthly close process in accordance with GAAP principles, as well as being a team lead to the accounting staff. We are seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for running the monthly close process in accordance with GAAP principles, as well as being a team lead to the accounting staff.

More about You:

Your key responsibilities will include:

Run all phases of the closing and reporting functions, including preparing journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts
Ensure compliance with GAAP, and corporate accounting policies and procedures
Coordinate the team to complete audit and analysis of each balance sheet account as part of monthly close process
Responsible for researching updates in accounting rules and regulations, and preparing memorandums documenting company policy
Aid in the development, documentation and implementation of internal controls
Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in accounting standard operating procedures
Assist with independent auditors to facilitate a successful audit and provide documentation requests, as necessary
Liaises with legal professionals as needed for proper setup of legal entities and any regulatory reporting requirements
Liaises with tax professionals and other departments as necessary when reviewing GL activity during the month
Support the Controller with designing and implementing financial best practices and Standard Operating Procedures for analyzing growth opportunities
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, including assistance with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests

Experience & Education:

Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Masters preferred
CPA or CFA preferred
Minimum 6-8 years of accounting experience
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Advanced in Microsoft Excel and Word required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with ERP type accounting software

Pay: Starting range with bonus: $90k-$110k. Plus up to monthly wellness stipend and other benefits.
