Job Summary

The Federal Work Study Student is responsible for the design and production of computer generated graphics for publishing multimedia, photos, and Internet applications related to the Financial Aid Office.

Duties Include:

• Create and maintain web sites, graphic compositions, logos and multimedia presentations.
• Design signs, banners and posters for Campus activities related to the Financial Aid office Perform other duties throughout the office as assigned.
• Create visual images that communicate a message.
• Use computer/design software to produce images and create electronic versions of their Designs to be used in online media and/or print.
• Create unique, effective designs that meet the needs of the project.

The Candidate is required to attend a mandatory orientation and training session with the immediate supervisor. Training will prepare the employee for handling specific financial aid inquiries and processing of federal, state, institutional and private aid.

• Ability to communicate effectively.

• Knowledge of PC operations and software.
• Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships and work well in a team environment.
• Software Knowledge: including but not limited to Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects, Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Fireworks, Microsoft Office (Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)

Who May Apply

• Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
• Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.

Work Schedule

Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.
